But first…
Looking back at January, our most‑read email was last Friday’s edition featuring the story about Bill Belichick being left out of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
I thought for sure something politically charged would take the prize. Nope.
With that in mind, we’re sticking with sports today. This time, we’re taking a close look at the Vancouver Whitecaps’ situation.
The team is both up for sale and unhappy with its stadium situation (or lack of one). The government/stadium‑owner says they want to help, but how much is too much?
We’ve broken it down for you below.
Oh, and don’t forget to vote in our poll at the bottom of this email after you’ve read it.

There’s no way they’ll leave
On the surface, this looks ugly. But behind the scenes, the team has been remarkably consistent in their messaging. If they can help it, they aren’t going anywhere.
And once you dig into it, the case for staying starts to make a lot more sense.
There’s no way they’ll stay
This team’s getting sold, one way or another.
And while ownership keeps saying they want a buyer who will keep the Whitecaps in Vancouver, they’ve also made it pretty clear that will only happen with a new stadium.
